Michael Mutua graduated from Malindi High School. He now lives in Kisumundongo village with his mother who is HIV+. He was sponsored through high school by Shirley Herrick.

Helen Charo graduated from Masheheni High School and went on to graduate from a secretarial school in Malindi.  Helen is now married and working as a secretary. She volunteered for the Imani Project for several years. Her secretarial education was funded by Janice Garceau and Michele Budd. 

 

Male, 16 years

Kitsao Mwena has graduated from Malindi High School, and was accepted to Jomo Kenyatta University for a degree in Special Education. He is now in Nairobi at the University.  He has been sponsored by Earline Anderson for the past 11 years.  His family lives in Kijiwetanga village.  Kitsao is a very bright young man. Kitsao fell out of a coconut tree when he was little, and his spinal cord was severed.  He now uses a wheelchair, but his disability has not kept him from excelling in school.

Tumaini graduated from Ngala Girls High School, and also she has completed a computer course.  She is now at home staying with her uncle in Sabaki village. Francis is working with Tumaini to help her find employment. Tumaini’s parents died of AIDS. Nancy Wilson has sponsored Tumaini for 10 years.

Grace Kazungu graduated from Lamu Girls Academy. She is now living and working in Malindi.  Grace likes drama and music.  She is sponsored by Diane and Lowell Halverson.

Rehema is a bright young woman who lives with her grandmother and her siblings in Kipanja-jeni village.  Rehema has completed Galana high school and also a course in computers. She now works as a teacher in a Missionary school in Mashaheni. She was sponsored by Bob Bradley and Torrie Gordon for the past 7 years.

 

Male, 19 years

He is 19 years of age, and graduated from Galana Boys Highchool. He has been generously sponsored by Sam and Virginia Shank. Mwokoli is interested in Business Management. He loves to play soccer.

 

Female, 18 years

Linet graduated from Galana High School and Polytechnic in tailoring.  She is married and working.  Linet was sponsored for many years by Chantal’s Little Shoes. Chantal has dedicated her book on  “Chantals Little Shoes” to Linet, who was the first orphan she sponsored.
